Barbara Albin is an award-winning artist from the Chicago area. Her
paintings are in many private and corporate collections and have been
shown in "Chicago Art Open", ARC Gallery, Anne Loucks Gallery, and the
Renaissance Gallery in the Chicago Cultural Center. She was also the
Co-Chair of "Women's Works" a national juried show for three years.

Shortly after moving to Punta Gorda, Florida, {Dec, 2000}, she was juried
into "2D/3D", a Florida statewide competition, in which there were over
300 entries. Out of these, the juror, Elaine Gustafson, curator of
contemporary art at Tampa Museum of Art, selected only 44. Since then,
Barbara's paintings were also selected for this state-wide completion in
2002 and two paintings accepted in 2005.
Barbara has also been in juried shows at the Art Center of Sarasota,
Visual Art Center of Charlotte County Art Guild, Alliance for the Arts, Ft
Myers, Big Art on Sanibel, and the Venice Art Center. She is also a member
of WCA, Women Contemporary Artists' group based in Sarasota and has been
juried into many of their exhibits. She has won numerous awards in these
shows over the past 5 years. She was also juried into the National Show
sponsored by Charlotte County Visual Arts Center.
In December of 2002 she was declared "Artist of the Month" by the Arts and
Humanities Council of Charlotte County with a proclamation given to her by
the Board of County Commissioners. She also had a one person show at the
Arts and Humanities gallery in Port Charlotte.
US Congressman Porter Goss chose Ms. Albin to be the judge from Charlotte
County to select the high school art work to be displayed in Washington
DC.
She currently teaches watercolor at the Visual Arts Center in Punfa Gorda,
is a member of Sea Grape Art Gallery also in Punta Gorda, and represented
by WildChild Art Gallery in Matlacha.
Barbara Albin was born in Chicago, Illinois. A graduate of Northern
Illinois University, she continued her studies at the School of the Art
Institute of Chicago Oxbow summer residency program, workshops, and
workshop in Paris France.
