Exotic places and ancient civilizations have fascinated me since I was a child and received a peso in a summer Spanish class. Through the years, I’ve been lucky to travel to many countries, to look at ruins and to witness lives very different from my own.

My recent paintings reflect my belief that all of mankind is connected to each other and to the planet. Life threads through space and through time. The energy of all that has come before us and all that will follow can provide us with guidance as we, individually, create our lives.

My inspiration is primitive art as well as early abstract art. Symbols are borrowed from a variety of cultures. The paintings tend to be a composite of images remembered, my own emotions and my curiosity about the mystery in the world. Bright colors express my joy in painting and my optimism in the evolution of our being.
