I have been painting for 25 years and am a fourth generation artist. I was raised Princeton, New Jersey, spent my young adult years in Manhattan, NY, raised my family in Darien, Connecticut and Dallas, Texas and settled in Sarasota, FL in 2001. I work in almost all mediums, oil, gouache, acrylic, pastel and watercolor. The use of vibrant colors and the layering of various glazes and papers has captivated me and collage has become an element in my work.

I try to disconnect from the intellectual world of predetermined expectations for a “painting” and capture the feeling of the overall image. Utilizing mixed media and imported papers and fabrics that are integrated with acrylic inks and bled water mediums I hope to create a visceral three dimensional experience for the viewer. I love to capture the aloof elegance of an orchid shoot, the sensuous petals of a peony, the patterns and textures of fabrics and the ethereal background of bled tapestries. I strive to bring the viewer as close to the tactile process I experience while making the work as possible.
