The Landon family back ground is found in all categories of the arts; fine
arts, architecture, writing, weaving, computer design, quilting, chefs,
graphic arts, clothing design and more for generations... it's in our
blood. I have explored many of the categories. Weaving, creative quilt
design, fabric painting, collage, watercolor and oil painting, clothing
design, cooking, and others.
Although clothing design was the career vehicle of choice for many years,
as I started and grew an outdoor-manufacturing company in the northwest:
and then new product design, development and marketing; art projects were
never far removed. Experimentation with different mediums was always being
explored and classes being taken and given.
Finally I tried oils, far from my mother's life long medium of watercolor,
but an immediate fit. It feels like I'm painting forward! And the texture
is here for me. I can feel it, like I feel the fabrics. With the oils I am
home.
And so I continue to explore and communicate my intense world of
transitioning nature and emotion through texture, color, and senses from
me to my viewers.
