Judy
Lyons Schneider
is an award-winning mixed media artist and layerist who works in oil,
encaustic, inks and other media that are most often integrated with
collage and printmaking.
Her extensive travels and photography skills
enrich her inspirational resources as she develops work reflecting her
interest in nature, anthropology and women’s issues.
She was born in New
York City and educated at the Art Students League and New York University.
Judy
has been actively involved with the making of art for over forty
years. However, her move to Florida and construction of a dedicated studio
and printmaking facility has accelerated her concentration and
inspiration. |

Schneider says, “It is my desire to engage the viewer in a dialogue with
my work,
discovering and adding to its intricacies, harmonies and layers.
Although clues for deciphering certain meanings may be present, each piece
is essentially an invitation to discover the ongoing story, the narrative
open to interpretation”. Her work has been exhibited in museums, galleries
and universities throughout the country and in Russia and she has received
awards and grants from numerous organizations and institutions.
