Kate Page Korp is a painter and printmaker although she occasionally works in other media as well. Her subject matter is usually based on nature or the human figure and she works with both models and 'en plein air.' Rather than creating realistic depictions, however, her main concern is with finding the universal element common to her subject and relating the idea behind that element to the viewer. About her work she says "When I draw or paint, I try to observe very closely so as to understand the underlying drama of my subject. The designs I see created by light, shadow, color and texture often result in images that are quite abstract."

Ms. Korp has had many solo exhibitions and has been accepted into and received awards in many prestigious group exhibitions in the state of Florida, including exhibitions at Selby Gallery, Sarasota, the Bakehouse Gallery, Miami and the the Capital Gallery, Tallahassee. Her work hangs in private and corporate collections in the United States and in Europe.

Ms. Korp attended Stetson University (Deland, Florida) on a Florida Federation of Art Scholarship and the Université de Dijon and the Ecole des Beaux Arts (Dijon, France) on a Rotary International Scholarship. After moving to Sarasota, Florida, in 1964, she taught art and art history, consecutively, at the John and Mable Museum of Art, Sarasota High School and Manatee Community College. She has pursued Post Baccalaureate work at the Ringling School of Art and Design and the Universidad Benito Juárez (Oaxaca, Mexico). Ms. Korp and her family have traveled and studied in a number of foreign countries, including France, Italy, Mexico, Peru, Kenya, Tanzania, Egypt, Turkey and Greece. She continues to teach locally and is a popular lecturer in art history.
