Biography
Carolyn
Ritter is an award winning artist living in Bradenton
Florida. Her work
has been
published in American Style Magazine, CatFancy, Atlanta
Style and Design, and other Atlanta publications. One of
her cat paintings was featured on the October 2000 cover of
the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association.
In 2006 her design featuring “Buddy”, a Labrador Retriever,
was selected for the automobile License Plate supporting
Georgia’s pet sterilization program.
During the
past five years, Carolyn has exhibited in over thirty-eight
juried shows taking first and second place awards, and
paintings from her Rocks and Leaves series were displayed in
the 2005 Street of Dreams in the north Georgia mountains at
Big Canoe. A solo show of her botanicals , “Intimate
Portraits of Nature”, was held at the State Botanical
Gardens of Georgia in October 2006. In September 2007, she
had another solo show, “Animals, Botanicals and Vegetables”,
at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain Georgia consisting of
64 paintings and prints. In Sarasota, two solo shows are
scheduled for December, 2008 at the Comcenter in Lakewood
Ranch, and May 2009 at the Bay Club. Art publishers,
ArtCandy Editions, displayed her work at Décor Expo Atlanta
in 2007, and Omega Molding featured her work there in 2008.

Atlanta metro area her work can be found at the Raiford
Gallery, the Frameworks Gallery, and on line at

Her
paintings of animals are in over two- hundred veterinary
hospitals , and her botanicals and landscapes hang in
corporations and private collections internationally.
After
receiving a degree in art education from Auburn University
she began teaching in schools and workshops in Washington,
Florida, and Georgia while taking workshops and classes from
nationally known artists . Carolyn worked as administrator
of her husband’s veterinary office for ten years where she
was secretly gathering ideas for her animal paintings.
