In vibrant colors, oil or pastel, I paint the reflection of light off the water, the shadows in the trees and the blue skies with puffy white clouds. These are the pure joys in which to express lively, bright colors in both mediums.

What sparks enthusiasm in me and what I try to capture in paint are the shapes and shadows, and the colors, whether subtle and bright.  I like to paint creatively and intuitively which expands the love of painting, and also brings vibrancy and life to a painting.

These are joys I like to share with others.

In the past five years Genevieve has exhibited in at least 15 shows, 14 of which were juried.  She has exhibited in a two woman art show. As she has recently submitted new pastel and oil works, she has won Merit Awards for them.

Her work is also in private collections.

After graduating from college, having studied interior design and art, and then getting her degree, she worked for a well known Washington, DC designer. In 1995 she and her husband moved to Sarasota, FL.   Eventually Genevieve started taking local art classes. She studied the Cape Cod School of Art (Monet’s technique), with a nationally known artist and a local artist.  She has also studied landscape painting with another, nationally known artist, using a different style.

In 2004, 2005, because of major life changes, she decided to strictly concentrate on learning more about painting, techniques, mediums, and developing her own style.  The end results would be to exhibit and sell her work. She has been successful in both.

Through art instructors, both at Ringling School of Art and Design, and local professionals, Genevieve has been learning different techniques, and improving her skills.  A friend and instructor, had her try pastel.  Through vibrancy, and pure color of pastels Genevieve found another medium in which she loves to work.  It is a wonderful medium which allows her to use multiple techniques with pastel.

Genevieve is a member of Women Contemporary Artists, Venice Art Center, Art Center Sarasota.  She belongs to other various organizations, i.e., the Friends of the Artist Series, the Navy League, and the US Navy Alumni Association.

Her original works can be purchased or also as high quality Giclée prints.
